Look , the whole land is before you; go wherever it seems good and right for you to go .”

Jeremiah 40:4-6

4 “But now, behold, I am ^afreeing you today from the chains which are on your hands. If ^{▼▼ Lit it is good in your eyes}you would prefer to come with me to Babylon, come along, and I will ^{▼▼ Lit set my eyes on}look after you; but if ^{▼▼ Lit it is evil in your eyes}you would prefer not to come with me to Babylon, ^{▼▼ Lit refrain!}never mind. Look, the ^fwhole land is before you; go wherever it seems good and right for you to go.” 5 As ^{▼▼ Lit he}Jeremiah was still not going back, ^{▼▼ I.e. Nebuzaradan} he said, “Go on back then to ⁱGedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has ^jappointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people; or else go anywhere it seems right for you to go.” So the captain of the bodyguard gave him a ^kration and a ^lgift and let him go. 6 Then Jeremiah went to ^mMizpah to ⁿGedaliah the son of Ahikam and stayed with him among the people who were left in the land.
